Iliopoulou Irini (1950)
Stories of a bag, 2016
She studied literature at the University of Athens (1969 – 1975). She studied painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1977 – 1981) in the studio of Giorgos Mavroidi, and at the Paris School of Fine Arts (1981 – 1985) in the studio of Leonardo Cremonini. Since 1985 she has been presenting her work in solo (“Etienne de Causans” Paris 1986, “Titanium” Athens 1988, “Athens Art Gallery”, 1993, 1995, “Flak” Paris 1996) and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad, especially in France.
Her works -mainly interiors, landscapes and themes inspired from nature- show emphasis on painterly values; they are sometimes lyrical, while they often convey a sense of desertion or drama.
