Guided tours - Educational Programmes

Multimedia guides, including PDAs, interactive kiosks and projections in purpose-built facilities, are available at the National Gallery to help individuals get a closer look at the history of Modern Greek art.

Expert-guided tours are also offered to the permanent display and temporary exhibitions, mainly addressed to primary- and secondary-education students, university students and other groups (societies, clubs, Friends of the Museum).
Each tour is adapted to the group’s age and familiarity with art.
Tours for primary-education students end up at the “Children’s Workshop”. Through games, free-choice and team work, children become familiar with colours and drawing; they paint and make constructions with a variety of materials. Art helps set their creativity free. It also helps them to know and enjoy nature, life, history of art; it makes them more sociable, reinforces their self-awareness and self-confidence.
Educational programmes are offered Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9:00-13:30 subject to appointment.
Moreover, the “Children’s Workshop” is open free of charge every Saturday 11:00-14:00 for preschool and primary school children.
Start date 12/11/2011.
